SG Aviation Services are delighted to announce that after months of planning and preparation they have now successfully passed audit with the Bermuda Department of Civil Aviation in compliance with Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) Order 2007 Article 85 and ICAO Annex 6 Part 2. The Article 85 Approval marks the end of a comprehensive systems and processes review that SG has undertaken in the past 6 months. SG has successfully demonstrated compliance with Overseas Territories Aviation Regulations (OTAR) 91 and 125. SG are now the only ferry services provider world-wide with the regulatory approval to carry out aircraft deliveries and movements. Compliance with the OTAR regulations includes Operations Manual submission and review including a full Safety Management System, Fatigue Management Scheme and Emergency Response Plan. The 2015 seminar focussed on a Human Factors Approach and included expert key-note speakers from KM Flight Research, Contracting Plus, and Dedale SAS. Speakers looked at the need for a more comprehensive approach to psychological measures in Pilot Selection that are fit for purpose. This was unsurprisingly a topical part to the agenda over the course of the two days of the seminar and workshops given the recent Germanwings tragedy. One of the most insightful presentations on Day 1 came from Jean Paries, ex Head of BEA Accident Investigation and indus try leading expert on resilience who posed the question Do we still need Pilots? The 2015 seminar boasted over 70 delegates from airlines across the globe including Emirates, Korean Airlines, Norwegian, Qatar Airways, Ryanair, Aer Lingus, IndiGo, Turkish Airlines, AirArabia and Virgin Atlantic Airways to name but a few.
