Job Overview

Sigma Aviation Services is looking for Knowledge Managers, to be based in Wales, UK.

The Knowledge Management is critical to capture the best of the consulting staff’s individual and collective expertise and to make it available to the broader company. The Knowledge Manager will drive the strategy, processes, content and technology relating to IP development across various sectors including but not limited to airline fleet planning, aircraft engine fleet planning & Costing & the commercial aviation industry in general, which will have a direct impact on the sales, marketing and delivery capability of the company and ultimately drive revenue growth. In addition, they will liaise closely with the various business unit leaders and engine type specialists, who utilise the assembled intellectual property (IP) for the benefit of their respective areas to ensure the business data and knowledge is leveraged optimally.


•Responsible for the control, consolidation and accessibility of all technical, commercial and industry knowledge that comes into the business or created by the business.

• Responsible for development, implementation and update of systems, processes and documentation to ensure the technical and commercial expertise is maintained on a “live” basis and centralised in a consistent manner for ease of recall by all disciplines within the group

• Drives the business objective to create new data driven services, focus on utilising the latest technologies within a data management and forecasting environment and ultimately drive growth in knowledge-based revenue streams.

• Compilation and provision of a suite of training programs to meet the internal business needs but also utilised in driving third party income.

• Control and continual update to the internal technical intranet pages and associated data.

• Working closely with the Fleet Management team ensure the creation, continual update and accuracy of all engine & airframe type guideline documents.

• Responsible for the creation, tracking and control of all technical templates (Engine, airframe & appliances) required and utilised by the various business areas within the QPulse quality management system.

• Responsible for the control and processing of all engine maintenance event financial data utilising proprietary systems.

• Responsible for the continual update and creation of a suite of engine work scoping cost templates utilised within the EFPAC system.

• Representing the business and presenting at industry conference


• Minimum 10 years working in a civil aviation industry analytical/appraising, training or technical role

• Strong project management skills to deliver projects on time and to the requisite level of quality, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as necessary

• Ability to multi-task, incorporating good organisational skills and flexibility, to prioritise work and deliver the maximum business value

• Proven technical awareness and commercial astuteness

• Good interpersonal and communication skills

• Confident in the presentation and provision of training courses both internally and externally •Knowledge of QPulse, EFPAC and Leasepoint beneficial but not essential as full training given.

• Experience in the full suite of technical documentation published by Airbus, Boeing, and Major engine OEMs such as General Electric, CFMi and Pratt and Whitney essential

• Computer literate and proficient with MS Office products
