SOURCING


Focused recruitment campaign to include: online advertising with prominent industry sites / database searches both in-house and external / industry networks & other recruiter tools - all managed by Sigma in order to identify and target potentially suitable candidates meeting the criteria defined by the client airline.

APPLICATION PROCESSING


Once suitable candidates are identified Sigma is responsible for the initial screening of these applicants in terms of: English Communication / Availability / Documentation Preparation / Full Assignment Briefing / Assignment Q & A Screening with applicants / Assessment Briefings / Assessment Schedule Coordination / Assessment Results

JOB OFFER


Sigma follows-up with candidates after assessment advising those who have been successful and unsuccessful. Those that the client airline wishes to make a Job Offer to are advised and Sigma coordinates as necessary details on: Confirmation of Acceptance of Offer / Confirm with the Airline the pilots’ Notice Period and availability for Starting Operations / Final reference checks / Outstanding documentation / Visa and permit processing, etc.

POSITIONING CREW TO BASE


Sigma coordinates details to Pilots on: Positioning Travel Arrangements (Flights & Accommodation) / Arrival Briefings / Initial Induction Schedules working with Pilots and the airline until the day that the Pilot arrives on base to commence assignment.

Stage 1: Recruitment & Screening

 


SOURCING


Focused recruitment campaign to include: database searches both in-house and external / industry networks & other recruiter tools / online advertising with Sigma and other paid prominent industry sites. A pro-active campaign is managed at Sigma by experienced Flight Crew Recruiters in order to identify and target potentially suitable candidates meeting the criteria defined by the Airline.

APPLICATION SCREENING & PROCESSING


Once potential candidates are identified by Sigma they are screened in terms of: Experience / Qualifications / English Communication / Documentation / Previous Employment History / Availability / Interest in Assignment Terms on Offer /


AIRLINE ASSESSMENT


If candidates are approved by the Airline to progress to an assessment Sigma coordinate with candidates and the Airline: Documentation Screening & Submission / Assessment Briefings / Assessment Schedule Coordination / Assessment Results

CONTRACT OFFER


Candidates who have been successfully assessed by the Airline will be provided with a Contract Offer for the assignment. Sigma will coordinate with flight crew on their acceptance of the Contract Offer following up with contract issuance and signature keeping the Airline apprised. Sigma will coordinate with the airline on documentation requirements, and reference checks required.

COMMENCING CONTRACT


Sigma will coordinate between the Airline and the Flight Crew member on contract start dates / positioning dates, confirming Flight Requests, Arrival Briefings and ensuring all necessary documentation, reference checks and any other requirements are in order before the flight crews position to commence assignment.

CONTRACTING OF CREW


Flight crews on assignment are contracted via Sigma through our pilot contractor agreement framework. Sigma provides a detailed contracting brief to the flight crew and deals with any contractual queries during the assignment period with each contractor directly.

INSURANCE


Sigma will provide the crew with Personal Accident and Emergency Medical Insurance Cover for the duration of the assignment period.


COMPLIANT EU PAYROLL


Sigma will be responsible for issuing monthly payroll to the flight crews. Payroll will be in compliance with regulatory requirements of the respective countries that the crew are based at and EU Directives for Airline Personnel in respect of social security and income tax requirements. Social Security and Income Tax payments will be deducted at source on a monthly basis. Flight crew will be issued with monthly payslips.

ONGOING MANAGEMENT AND LIAISON


Sigma will act as a liaison between the Contractors and the Airline for any contract / assignment queries, providing support & administrative back-up services where required.

CONTRACT TERMINATION


Sigma will manage the process of crew terminations whether initiated by the Airline or early flight crew termination. A replacement service exists whereby flight crew can be either pre-identified in a hold pool with job offer potential or pre-screened and quickly progressed through the latter parts of assessment to move to job offer stage with minimal timeframe, where required.
